Iran to Help Afghanistan with Technical services for Oil and gas discovery writes Tehran Times
Iran will offer technical services to Afghanistan for the discovery of oil and natural gas resources, according to the Shana News Agency.
This issue was agreed in a meeting of Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh with Afghan Mines and Petroleum Minister Daud Shah Saba in Tehran on October 17.
Zanganeh mentioned this agreement as the main subject of the meeting with the Afghan minister. In terms of Iran’s exporting oil products especially gas oil to Afghanistan; the Iranian official said that some delegations were decided to be dispatched from the both countries to reach the agreement for the increase of Iran’s oil product exports to its neighboring country.
By boosting the amount of Iran’s legal exports of oil products to Afghanistan, smuggling of these products from Iran to its neighboring country will be prevented and also Afghanistan will receive the better quality products, Zanganeh commented.
Iran-Afghanistan energy relation has been mostly due to Iran’s exports of oil products to Afghanistan in a way that Iran exported three million liters of gas oil to the neighboring country in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22).
