TIG welders are designed for the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding process (GTAW), which is commonly referred to as the Tungsten Inert Gas process (TIG welding). The TIG process derives the heat for welding from an electric arc established between a non-consumable tungsten electrode and the part to be welded.
